From India's first IBD content repository to international research publications — a timeline of IBD India's work since 2020.

Our work so far

Apr 2020 – Dec 2021
Foundation years
Created India's first public repository of expert interviews, patient stories, and panel discussions on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Collaborations with India's top IBD experts and international patient advocates.
Worked with AIIMS New Delhi to onboard patients onto the IBD NutriCare App — a diet tracking tool launched by ICMR and AIIMS for IBD patients.
Partnered with Colitis and Crohn's Foundation (India) to train patients as Patient Counselors under the IBD-CARE program — the first formal patient-to-patient training program in India.
Jan 2022 – Dec 2023
Expanding reach
Represented the IBD community at the 2022 Asia-Pacific IBD Conference (CCFI + APAGE) — the first time Indian patients were involved. Delivered a 30-minute talk: "Mitigating the Silent Shrieks of the IBD Patient."
Collaborated with Enable India to provide free counseling to IBD patients — the first of its kind mental health resource for IBD patients in India.
Enabled an academic thesis on the lives of women living with IBD in India (MA Psychology research by Tanisha Singh).
Represented the Indian patient diaspora at AIG IBD Summit 2023 – IBD CrossTalk with Generation Patient and CCYAN.

Research & advocacy
Extended free counseling services to caregivers of persons with IBD.

Collaborated with Multifly Lifestyle to create locally manufactured support clothing for ostomates in India.
Donated laptops to support education for two young girls with IBD whose schooling was impacted by severe disease and economic hardship.
Partnered with QPR Institute India for free certified Suicide Intervention Training for community members.
Presentations at IBD Vizag 2024 (8th CCFI National Meeting) and policy advocacy at Bridging Rare Summit 2024.
Extended mental healthcare resources in collaboration with iCall and Mariwala Health Initiative (MHI).
