The 8th CCFI (Colitis and Crohn's Foundation of India) National Meeting brought together IBD specialists, researchers, and patient advocates. IBD India presented on mental healthcare for IBD patients, highlighting the importance of psychological support alongside medical treatment.
To mark World IBD Day on May 19th, IBD India organised community meetups in Hyderabad and Bangalore — bringing patients, caregivers, and advocates together in person for the first time. The events featured patient stories, Q&A sessions with doctors, and peer support activities.
IBD Insight was a patient education programme designed to help IBD patients better understand their condition, treatment options, mental health resources, and how to advocate for themselves in the healthcare system. The session was conducted at Lisie Hospital in Kochi.
IBD CrossTalk was a pre-conference patient event at the AIG IBD Summit 2023, organized in collaboration with Generation Patient and Crohn's and Colitis Young Adults Network (CCYAN). IBD India represented the Indian patient diaspora, sharing lived experiences and advocating for greater patient involvement in IBD care.
IBD India represented the IBD patient community of India at the 2022 Asia-Pacific IBD Conference, organized by the Colitis and Crohn's Foundation (India) and the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology. This was the first time Indian patients were involved in an Asia-Pacific IBD conference. IBD India delivered a 30-minute talk titled "Mitigating the Silent Shrieks of the IBD Patient."
